SUNNY AND WARM
Conditions in Ashburton to-day were generally sunny and warm. Three points of rain fell yesterday. The maximum and minimum temperatures at 9 a.m. were 63 and 51 degrees, against 07.6 and 54 for the previous 24 hours. The earth temperature this morning was 58.5, from 58.6 yesterday. The barometer to-day measured 29.87 inches, against 29.70 yesterday. OUTLOOK FAIR The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— General situation: A depression east of New Zealand is moving south-east and there is an anti-cyclone over the western Tasman. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Bleriheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows: Moderate variable winds; weather becoming fair to fine; moderate frosts to-night, with milder day temperatures. Further outlook: Fair.
