Nelson Annuity Stopped. — The House of Co'mmons, by 271 votes to 102, passed the second reading of the Trafalgar Estates Bill under which the annuity of £SOOO granted to Lord Nelson’s descendants will not be paid after the death of the present Earl Nelson and his brother, the Hon. Edward Nelson. The Chancellor of the Exchequer (Dr. Hugh Dalton) suggested that Earl Nelson’s residence, Trafalgar House, should pass into the Admiralty’s hands, thereby becoming a greater memorial to a great sailor than, it was at present.
