NO PRIORITY

PASSENGERS FOR DOMINION ,- - 0 (Rec. 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 4. British shipping companies operating to New Zealand agreed that until such time as passages have been secured for all New Zealanders who were stranded _in Britain during the war years, a proportion of accommodation available on each vessel leaving Britain for New Zealand should be set aside for allocation by the New Zealand High Commissioner’s Office. It has been stipulated, however, that the only persons who may he added to the present waiting list at New Zealand House should be New Zealand businessmen who have come to Britain on missions sponsored by the New Zealand Government. As a result there is now no means by which priority transport can be secured for ordinary passengers througji New Zealand House, and it is therefore being suggested to prospective passengers who are not on: sponsored visits, or whose names are not alreadv on the New Zealand House waiting list, that they should make their arrangements directly with shippingcompanies. By arrangement with the Ministry of Transport, companies have now resumed control of the allocation of passages on their "own vessels.
