TRUCK DRIVER KILLED
ACCIDENT AT PUNI (P.A.) AUCKLAND, October 3. The driver of a light motor-truck' Avas killed when the vehicle failed to negotiate an acute bend near the Puni Hall on the Pukekohe-Puni road this afternoon. The victim was Manuel Lawrence Silva, aged 24, single, of the soldiers’ settlement, Te Puni. William Forbes, aged 22, married, a brother-in-laAv of the driver, was admitted to hospital with a broken arm. The second passenger suffered shock and was 'given attention a Puni.
The truck, which Avas OAvned by Silva, Avas following the PukekoheWaiuku bus on which his mother was travelling. Silva intendeci to pick up his mother at the stop at Puni, and drive her home. CHILD KILLED (P.A.) AUCKLAND, October 3. Allan Jack Pitman, aged four years, was killed at Onehunga when he ran into the roadway and Avas knocked dOAvn by a bus. *
