RECRUITING OFFICER APPOINTED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, September (>. Lieutenant-General W. N. Pharazyn, who returned to New Zealand recently after serving with the New Zealand Legation in Washington as military attache and Army member of the New Zealand Joint Staff Mission, has been appointed recruiting officer for the United Nations in New Zealand. This was announced to-day by the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser), who added that it could be expected that particulars of positions with the secretariat of the United Nations would be advertised shortly. The committee which would review all New Zealand applications would comprise the Public Service Commissioner (Mr J. 11. Boyes), Mr A. T. Donnelly, barrister, of Christchurch, Sir Thomas Hunter, Vice-Chancellor of the University of New Zealand and principal of Victoria University College, and a representative of the Department Of External Affairs.
