FAST AND CLEVER BOUT
McCANN BEATS KIRKMAM | (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 27. ! Jack McCann (Wellington), lOst 131 b beat Jack Kirkman (Australia), list Sib, on points at the end of a scheduled 12-round bout, at the Civic Theatre tonight. There was a good attendance, and fr,om start to finish the contest I was marked by fast and clever box-' ing, with McCann carrying the fight toj his opponent. Both men were in ex-1 cellent condition, and the last round was as spirited as the first. There was an almost complete absence of the clinching that has marred so many pro-j fessional matches.
