TWO TITLES TO ASHBURTON Two Ashburton boxers won titles at the Canterbury amateur boxing championships concluded at the Civic Theatre, Christchurch, last evening. They were C. Hay (bantam-weight) and R. Tonks (middle-weight). Trevor Tonks was narrowly defeated, after an excellent bout, in the final of they heavy-weight. Results of Ashburton interest were as follows: Bantam-weight—C. Hay (Ashburton), Bst filb, defeated C. Fox, 8.11. Middle-weight—R. Tonks (Ashburton), 11.3, defeated P. Dwyer 11.6. Heavy-weight—,T. Tagalagi 11.13 defeated T. Tonks (Ashburton) 12.6.
