U.S. OFFICER ON TRIAL
ART OBJECTS STOLEN FROM GERMANY (Ree. 9.30 a.m.) BERLIN, Aug. 27. The American Army Provost Marshal announced that Captain Norman T. Byrne, of Hollywood, who served as fine arts and monuments officer in the Berlin district was arrested in San Francisco on August 12 and returned to Berlin. He is charged with removing from Germany two paintings vaL ued at £2500 and quantities of valuable porcelain.
