PASSENGERS COMPLAIN
BRIDE SHIP DOMINION MONARCH (Rec. 12.50) fDELAIDE, This Day. Allegations that the vessel was unhealthy and dirty on the voyage from Britain were made by 200 passengers aboard the bride ship Dominion Monarch. . They signed a written statement listing complaints which included extremely unhealthy and dirty conditions' in the dormitories, lack of facilities for washing and drying babies . soiled clothing, lack of medical attention and the unsatisfactory allocation of berths. The statement alleged that mothers with small children were crowded m dormitories on the lower deck, while male passengers had two-berth cabins on the promenade decks. “It appears that passengers travell-ing-under Government schemes were regarded as an undesirable element and were treated accordingly.” S on * dueled the statement.
