HEAVY SEAS
CRONULLA SURF PAVILION (Rec. 12.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. An all-day fight by council employees and surfmen at Cronulla proved unavailing when last night heavy seas swept, the concrete foundations from beneath the surf pavilion. The entire structure, which included dressing sheds and a kiosk, crashed into the sea immediately and disintegrated. The North Cronulla surf club-house, which is a more substantial building, is still standing, though damaged. It is hoped that temporary fillings will hold until the wind changes. In the last four days the seas have removed 100 feet of Cronulla beach and demolished large sections of the promenade.
