CHURCH REDEDICATED
SERVICE AT MAYFIELD A memorable service took place last evening when the Mayfield Methodist Church was re-dedicated after being closed for about 15 years. About 40 persons attended, the congregation including many descendants of early settlers in the district and founders of the Church. After the .singing of the Doxology the church was re-dedicated by the Rev. F, Bateup. The congregation stood in silence as a mark of respect to pioneers of the district and founders of the church, and to the memory of the Rev. Wesley Long, who passed away recently. Mr Long was the last permanent minister attached to the church. A letter of greeting was read from the Rev. W. T. Blight, who is chairman of the circuit and president of Conference. The . ordinary service followed, Mrs R. Gallagher being organist. The church is being worked by the Willowby Circuit ,and it is hoped to hold services each month. ,
