LABOUR COMMITTEE
ADDRESSES AT ASHBURTON Tliere was an attendance of G 3 at a meeting of the Ashburton Labour Representation Committee yesterday afternoon. The president (Mr J. 11. Ward) presided. Thursday, September 5, was set as the date by which all nominations for a candidate for the Ashburton electorate are to be in the hands 0/ the special selection committee. An address on organisation and the activities of the National Executive was given by Mr J. Olliver, of Timaru. Mrs D. Newlands, of Timaru, who is' president- of the Divisional Area Council, also addressed the meeting.
