MAORI CHAPEL
COST ABOUT £7OOO (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. After a meeting of the Maori Chapel Committee' yesterday, Sir Apirana Ngata announced that he believed the cost of the chapel proposed for Wellington Cathedral to be about £7OOO. Bishop Holland said he hoped the Maori people would raise that sum as their contribution to the cathedral. Sir Apirana Ngata said they would have to make out a case for a national memorial if they desired help from other tribes. He suggested that ’Wellington should raise £3OOO before appealing elsewhere,
