RIOTS IN ASMARA
LEADERS ARRESTED LONDON, July 31. Armoured cars are patrolling the streets of Asmara after rioting by Entreans who favour the annexation ot the country by Ethiopia, says Reuter’s Asmara correspondent. The crowd attacked and damaged Arab-owned houses and shops, and called on Haile Selassie’s representative with a petition tor transmission to the Paris conference demanding annexation.
Five leaders of the demonstration were arrested and 120 persons were detained.
