ASHBURTON VITAL STATISTICS Births registered at Ashburton during the month ended yesterday showed a big increase on July of last year, but returns for marriages and deaths were substantially the same. The total of 34 births last month was 10 greater than in the corresponding period a year’ago and was also the second largest monthly tally for the current year. Marriages decreased by one and there was one more death. The figures for July are as follow: —
For the geven months of the year ended yestei’day, births show a de-' crease of four,, marriages an increase of 12, and deaths a decrease of six. The totals for that period are: —
