MONTHLY MEETING Mrs Dick presided over the monthly meeting of the Wakanui Women’s Institute. The aspirations were read by Mrs D. Wilson. Remits for the Dominion conference were fully discussed, and Mrs Dick gave an interesting report of the Mid-Canterbury Federation meeting. Preliminary arrangements _ were made for the birthday party, which is to take the form of a concert and dance on July , 31 Competitions resulted: Large bloom, Mrs Frampton 1, Mrs Dick v 2, Mrs Butterick 3; small bloom, Mrs G. Brand 1, Mrs Frampton 2,' Mrs Taylor 3; Vase of chrysanthemums, Mrs Frampton 1, Mrs Dick 2, Mrs. Butterick 3; tomato relish, Mrs Hendrie 1, Mrs Leadley 2, Mrs Gray 3. The hostess was Mrs G. Brand.
