“LOST” YACHT WINS
SYDNEY-HOBART RACE (Rec. 12.30 p.m.) HOBART, This Day. The cutter Rani won the SydneyHobart yacht race crossing the finishing line at 1.22 a.m. to-day after making a dramatic reappearance in the contest yesterday afternoon. Since Thursday Rani and another competitor, Horizon, had been “missing,” and air search failed to locate them. Horizon has still not been sighted. Rani’s sailing time was 158 hours 22 minutes 35 seconds. The ketch Winston Churchill, which looked a certain winner is stated to be becalmed off the east coast of Tasmania. Captain J. H. Illingworth, R N., owner and captain of Rani, said he could not believe they were considered lost for five days. He added; “We had a fine and safe trip. It is funny to say we were a lost crew. We never lost one hot nwa'i.^
