WARNING OF EPIDEMIC , (Rec. 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 21. Diphtheria cases have increased in Sydney in the last few, weeks and today the metropolitan health officer, Dr. Graham Drew, gave warning of an epidemic next year. “It will among our children like a forest fire,’.’ said Dr. Drew. Other doctors said they regarded the situation as most serious. Fiftyfour cases of diphtheria had been taken to hospital this month. One case had been fatal. The year’s total is about 600 cases.
