ST. JAMES THEATRE

Olsen and Johnson, the famous Broadway comedy stars and producers,are at their best in “See My Lawyer,”

which is showing at the St. James Theatre to-night and to-morrow afternoon and night. As owners of a night club they have all the leeway in the world to put on the kind of show that only they can. In support of the two comedians are Alan Curtis, Grace McDonald, Noah Beery juu., Franklin Pangborn, Edward S. Brophy, Richard Benedict, Lee Patrick, Gus Schilling. Then there are specialty acts from Yvette, charming international songstress; Carmen Amaya and her company of gypsy dancers ; The King Cole Trio harmonising “Man of the Little White Keys” and “Fuzzy Wuzzy” ; the Hudson Wonders, acrobatic dancers ; Rogers Adagio tVio; the Four Teens; the Cristianis, a world-famous vaudeville and circus troupe; and the Six Willys. “See My Lawyer” is not just a first-rate vaudeville show. There is a story, although it is sublimated to the general entertainment features of the picture, and there is a romance between Miss McDonald and Alan Curtis. Tlie story concerns the efforts of a linn of young lawyers to get on their feet, and how they achieve this when Olsen and Johnson become their clients.

The associate feature is “Brook!in Orchid,” another Hal Eoadch comedy' starring William Bendix and Joe Sawyer. The story of “Brooklyn Orchid” concerns two taxi-cab tycoons who he-, come^involved with a. blonde beauty contest winner, known as the Brooklyn Orchid, when • they > fish her out of a river into which she had plunged in an attempt to end it all. Being married men, their Brooklyn Orchid brings many complications into their otherwise complicated lives and leads to a large series of hilarious events. A cartoon and musical item will bo shown in addition to the two features to-night.
