CONSIDERATION OF ELECTRIC TOTALISATOR NEW TRAINING TRACK Following discussion on letters from the Canterbury and South Canterbury Jockey Clubs, the committee of the Ashburton Trotting Club yesterday decided .to send representatives to meetings to be held by the jockey clubs to discuss the possibility of securing electric totalisator equipment. Messrs J. Cocks and J. B. Nicoll (secretary) were appointed. It was decided to ascertain ihe possibility of securing the County reserve at the'intersection of Racecourse Road and the Main South Road, and to ask the Racing Club if it was prepared to act jointly with ihe Trotting Club in the matter.

A recommendation by the track committee that a new training circuit of five furlongs be laid down was adopted. The committee reported that the existing dirt track was worn out. The president (Mr H. F. Nicoll) presided.
