DEATHS REPORTED
HEATWAVE IN AUSTRALIA SYDNEY, December 17. The heatwave continues in New South Wales.
Ten persons have now died at. Broken Hill —nine elderly persons and a baby—from heat prostration. Many have collapsed in other country towns and in Sydney. Bushflres broke out in several outer Sydney suburbs. At one place five firemen were.encircled by flames and narrowly escaped injury in a 50 yards dash to safety.
