PROGRESS REPORT
WORK OF CATCHMENT BOARO Further progress had been' made with surveys and plans for the Ash-burton-Hinds drainage scheme, reported the chief engineer (Mr G. R. Milward) to a meeting of the South Canterbury Catchment Board in Timaru yesterday. The design and drawings had been made for the reinforced concrete bridge on Shepherd’s Bush Road diversion, also for the Lagmhor Creek culvert at the Timaru track diversion. The survey and plans were completed for the Timaru Track and Shepherd’s Bush diversion and the Wheatstone Drain diversion plans were in hand. The survey has been done for four miles of the lower Flemington drain. On the Hinds river, minor inspections have been made, and the protective work at Oakley’s Estate, Mayfield, put in hand, continued Mr Milward.
