BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING

Sir, —The report headed “Reluctant to Go,” appearing in last night’s “Guardian.” in which it was reported that I stated “we will be back,” re-, quires •kplanatioil. The Mayor informed, the meeting that the business of the Council was finished, and that to clear up certain matters the meeting was going into committee. I understand that the public is not privileged to ,be present during committee discussions. What I meant when I stated “We will be back,” was that members of the Ratepayers’ Association would be in attendance at the next Council meeting, when we hope to learn of tire decisions arrived at in committee, as such decisions have, I understand, to be confirmed in open meeting.

A. B. THOMAS, Vice-president, Ratepayers’ Association
