Lighting at Methven
11 was suggested by Mr J. Carr when the Ashburton Electric Power Board met. this morning that the lighting of the square at Methven left much room for improvement. As things were>, he said, there was a virtual black-out in ttie middle of the square, and at night motorists had to keep a very sharp look-out for pedestrians. The provision of extra lights would probably be the only solution, said the engineer-secretary (Mr H. G. Kemp).
