HEALTH STAMPS
SUPPLY IN N.Z. ALMOST EXHAUSTED As all health stamps in Ashburton which have not been sold by the' end of the> week will be returned to Christchurch, residents who wish to purchase stamps would be well advised to do so within the next day or two. Representing the Postmaster at a meeting of the Health Camp Committee yesterday afternoon, Mr G. J 3. Brown reported that the Post Office authorities had been ordered to return all surplus stamps, as the supply in many towns in New Zealand had been exhausted. There were at present, about £35 worth of stamps to be disposed of. Mr Brown said that the increased demand was probably due to stamp buyers and international dealers operating freely again in peace time. The committee decided to make a special appeal to business houses and the public to buy stamps. It is hoped to dispose of the £35 worth before the end of the week.
