ALLENTON SPORTS CLUB.
OPENING DAY FIXED. LEVIES DECIDED ON. . Subject to- the greens being in suitable condition, the Allenton Sports Club will hold its opening day on October 6, according to a decision at the last meeting of the executive. Celebration of the 21st birthday of the club was postponed until the warmer weather. Owing to the increased cost of labour it was decided to impose a levy of 5s- on bowling members and 2s 6d on croquet, tennis and lady bowling members. Mr Horrell was appointed supervisor of greens and Mr E. C. Bathurst supervisor of refreshments. Arrangements to obtain the services of a new greenkeeper were left in the hands of a sub-committee. The president (Mr N. W. Corbett) presided. *
