LULL UNTIL NEXT MONTH There will be a lull in racing in the South Island until the Ashburton meeting is held on September 15. Geraldine follows on September 22 and the Otago Hunt Club’s meeting on September 29. The Dunedin Jockey Club’s season will open on October 9. In the House of Representatives yesterday, Mr R. G. Gerard (Opposition, Mid-Canterbury) gave notice to ask the Minister of Internal Affairs if he would indicate whether the Government had considered the removal of the restrictions placed on racing and trotting clubs during the war, and if it was intended to remove the restrictions would the Government make an early announcement so that clubs, owners, and breeders could make their arrangements—(P.
