INVESTMENTS IMPROVE. '" 1 "y There was an improvement ®in investments in the Victory Loan at Ashburton yesterday, £5764 12s being-de-posited. (P.A. ) WELLINGTON, June 1. The Reserve Bank announced this evening that the total of the 1945 Victory Loan is now £15,562,874. The cash subscriptions during the day amounted to £577,602, including £49,966 of redeemed promises. A total of £9,437,000 is required before the closing date, June 16. Amounts raised and percentages of objectives in the 20 war loan districts are now: Wellington, £2,724,067 (74 per cent); Southland, £852,201 (67); Taranaki, £613,920 (66); Auckland, £3,776,381 (65); Wairarapa, £250,440 (64); North Otago, £150,053 (63); South Canterbury, £.376,377 (63); Wanganui, £488,146 (62); Otago, £1,360,617 (60); Gisborne-East Coast, £259,806 (60); Northland, £266,358 (59); Hawke’s Bay, £560,846 (58); Mauawatu, £632,195 (58); Nelson, £296,662 (57); Marlborough, £140,071 (55); Thames-Bay of Plenty, £303,579 (55); Waikato-King Country, £733,311 (54); Westland, £177,820 (53); Canterbury, £1,547,277 (52); Buller, £(52,747 (51).
