RETURN TO INDIA.

LORD WAVELL’S MISSION. (Rec. 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 1. Field Marshal Lord Wavell, Viceroy of India, left Britain this afternoon in the British Overseas Ainvays’ Corporation’s flying-boat on his return journey to India. Lord Wavell has been in London since March 23. He came for talks on Indian affairs with Mr Churchill and Mr L. C. M. Amery, Secretary for India. Although there have been many discussions during his tAVo months’ stay no official statement has been made regarding their precise nature or the special reason for the invitation to him from the Government to come.
