MEN’S HOCKEY.
FIRST COMPETITION MATCH. Wakanui will play Ashburton in the opening round of the Ashburton Men’s Hockey Association’s competition to-morrow, commencing at 2.30 p.m. The Ashburton team will be selected from the following: P. Vincent, J. Weeks, W. Moor, R. Bonnington, C. Finn, M. Stayt, D. McCrae, A. Burton, O. Moore, W. H. Vaughan, D. Guthrie, G. McTigue, R. Sarney and D. Oliver. It is hoped to organise a team from the former Baring Square Club for the following Saturday, but there are still a number of vacancies to fill.
