FIGHTING IN ALGERIA.

10,000 CASUALTIES REVEALED. (Rec. 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 31r More than 10,000 Arab insurrectionists were killed or wounded between May 8 and 16 in stern - French counter-measures against the revolt in Algeria, according to a delayed dispatch to the United States Army newspaper “Stars and Stripes” from a. correspondent at Casablanca. The French used American planes to transport Moroccan troops from Casablanca to help quell the disturbances in Algeria, while French pilots in American medium heavy-bombers made more than 300 sorties over the hinterland levelling entire communities. French fighter pilots in British planes followed up the bombers to strafe the fleeing population or divebomb Arab strongholds in the moun tains. The correspondent adds that because of the severe French censorship and inaccessibility of the battle area a true picture of events and cause so far is obscure.
