TUARANGI HOME.
Sir, —For quite some time a small party of us lias been visiting Tuarangi Home on Saturday afternoons for community singing, and it has been wonderful to see how the inmates have enjoyed it, and Monday night we arranged for the Boxing Association to put on an evening for them and a great show it was too. We have also had meetings at the Home ior members of our Association who are not able to come to Ashburton. Now; by the order of the North Canterbury Hospital Board this has got to stop. G. PILE, Secretary, Pensioners’ Association. [On referring this letter to the North Canterbury Hospital Bqard, Mrs T. Green, chairwoman of the 1 . Benevolent Committee, stated that the Board was only too delighted for anyone to assist in the entertainment of the men at Tuarangi Home, subject to the prior approval of the Master (Mr N. W. Corbett). The collection of subscriptions from inmates and the holding of unauthorised meetings of the association were matters in an entirely different category and permission to carry out these activities in the Home could not be given.—Ed. “Guardian.”]
