THE ASHBURTON CLUB. With the continued fine weather good progress is being made witli the Ashburton Bowling Club’s competitions. The second round of the Champion Fours was completed on Saturday. Results of games played during the week are: Champion Fours (skips’ names only)—E. A. Cocki’oft 20, beat J. B. Wylie 12; R. McElhinney 21 beat W. R. Lane 18; W. H. Amos 30 beat C. R, Lewis 16; S. Mitchell 21 beat W. H. Higginsi 20. Champion Singles—P. Penman beat Z>. W. Dakers, T. EL, Tarbotton beat W T Tulloch, E. A. Cockroft beat A. Lane. .

A progressive pairs tournament will be held on the Ashburton green on Boxing Day holiday. On Monday, January 3, the Ashburton Sub-Centre will hold an open pairs tournament on the Allenton and Ashburton greeds. It is expected there will be good entries from all County clubs. Entries close on December 20.

Several Ashburton players will have a busy" time during the next few weeks as they are entered for the Christmas tournament at. TLmaru and the Dominion tournament at Dunedin.
