FOR HOSPITALS.

Gifts .for use in military hospitals donated to the Ashburton Sub-Centre of the Red Cross Society this month comprised hooks, magazines, cakes, biscuits, odd plates and saucers, hot, water bottle covers, bed sox, trdy cloths, towels and filled hospital comfort gift hags.

These were donated by the subbranches at Ealing, Metliven, Seafield, WUlowby, Lauriston, Allenton, Lag-mhor-Westerfleld, Chertsey, Lowcliffe, Lyndhurst, Eiffelton, Mount Somers, Hampstead, Mayfield, Flemington, Fairmn (Junior), Winchmore, and Greenstreet (Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union). A donation of money from the Highbank Junior Red Cross was also received. The wool depot will be closed after to-morrow afternoon until January 11.
