THE WEATHER.
FINE DURING WEEK-END. The weather at Ashburton during the week-end was ideal yesterday, being fine and sunny after a frost of 1.3 degrees. To-day the sun shone brightly from an almost cloudless sky and there was a cool easterly breeze. Maximum and minimum temperatures yesterday, 58.5 and 35.6 degrees compared with 60.8 and 54.9 on Saturday. The barometer * reading to-day is 29.92, against 30.01 yesterday.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows:Light to moderate northerly winds predominating. Weather fair to fine; temperatures, cool to moderate. Further outlook: Fair.
