FOR EMERGENCIES.
AMBULANCE SYSTEM CALL. It was decided by the Ashburton St. John Ambulance Brigade last evening to arrange a telephone call system for summoning members in cases of serious emergencies. It was reported that a successful series of classes in home nursing had just been concluded. Since the activities of the Brigade had been separated from the Emergency Precautions Services, it was announced, it bad been necessary to find separate storage for equipment and arrangements were being made accordingly. Three pairs of blankets and a new uniform would be purchased.
Preparations were made for the annual inspection next month and it was decided to hold a series of Brigade competitions, to be followed by visits to other centres. Weekly tices would be held.
The superintendent (Mr H. Lane) presided.
