BOWLING.
HINDS CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. The following officials were elected at the annual meeting of the Hinds Bowling Club: —Patron, Mr J. Acland, M.P.; president, Mr D. J. McDonald; vice-president,-Mr H. Stephens; secretary, Mr R. A. Telfer; committee, President, vice-president, secretary, and Mr L. Hill. The report showed that the green had not improved during the season, and that the club had weathered an awkward season with a, shortage of farm labour tending to keep the membership low and the attendance of players below that of other seasons. There was a profit on the season, with only a small sum still owing on the electric mower.
It was decided to open the seasofi on Saturday if the green is fit. Later in the season, if the green improves an open day will be held and members of neighbouring clubs will he invited.
