RED CROSS ACTIVITY.
WAKANUI JUNIORS' PART. At a “Penny”, concert and sales table held recently by the Walsanui Circle of the Junior Red Cross over £7 was raised. This amount was helped appreciably by generous donations from friends of the circle. I SUBBRANCH. , The Lowcliff e-Coldstream SubBranch of the Red Cross Society at its monthly meeting carried motions of sympathy with Mesdames Barnes, Bain, Clarke and Tait. It was decided to hold a paddy’s market in the school on November 20. Members agreed to make and fill ditty-bags for the next meeting. Papier maehe bowls were handed in, also four singlets made of homespun wool by members of the Junior Red Cross, hot-water bag covers, three balaclavas, three pairs slippers, four sleeveless pullovers, one cranwell, four pairs mittens and one scarf. Wool was distributed for knitting. Miss Tait and Miss Simmons were hostesses. Mrs Reddecliffe presided.
