\ SISTER E. BOLTON HONOURED. A feature of the welcome home given by the Ashburton Returned Services’ Association last evening for J men on furlough was the initiation of t Sister E. Bolton as a member of the Association. She was presented with the Association’s badge by the president (Mr W. G. Welsh) and with a bouquet by Staff-Sergeant K. Thompson on behalf of men of the 2nd! N.Z.E.F. Mr Welsh spoke of the es- j teem in which nurses were held in the last war and Staff-Sergeant Thompson said that to-day they were an inspiration to the soldiers, especially in cam- i paigns like those in Greece and Crete, j Replying, Sister Bolton said that al- j though the nurses were bombed and: machine-gunned a little in Greece and j Crete these experiences only made ! , them appreciate more the hardships { • endured by the soldiers and their j patient, uncomplaining spirit in hos- ; pital.
