On October 6, 1918, one man performed the well-nigh incredible feat of killing between 20 and 25 German machine-gunners and capturing 132 prisoners. The tall mountaineer received in recognition of his achievement tho Congressional Medal, the Distinguished Service Cross (U.S.A.), and the Oroix do Guerre and Medaille Militairo (France). “Sergeant York” is brilliantly portrayed by Gary Cooper, who, for his magnificent characterisation of a -world famous hero, won the Academy Award— the highest honour filmdom can bestow. This picture broke the records of “Gone With the Mind” in New York, Chicago, and several other State capitals. It is not a picture—it is a true, unforgettable experience.
