WOMEN'S HOCKEY.
NO COMPEtiTiON THIS YEAR. Owing to the difficulties of transport no competition will be held by the ’ Ashburton * Women’s' Hockey Association this year. This was decided at the annual meeting last evening, when representatives 'of evei’y club in the County wore present, the President (Mr W. T. Corbett) presiding. . Friendly matches will ho played, the teams including one from the Women’s Auxiliary Army Force. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr H. Millichamp; president, Mr WL T. Corbett; vice-president, Mrs A. Loach; honorary associate members, Messrs W. J. Halliday, W. J. Owen, D. M. Bruce, L. Armstrong, H. A. Humphreys, J. Donn, W. Crawford C. A. S. Watson, W. T. Lowe, J. Davison, D. Cairns, H. Brown, A. Amos, R. Scholium, W. Tatterson, Mesdames Prouting and Wellington; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. Bishop, executive, Misses'M. Henderson, G. Haack, W. Lowe," R . Bonnington and M. Hansen; delegate to Ashburton Sports Association, Mr Bishop; selector, Mr Corbett; auditor, Mr K. G. Fowke.
