AIR MAIL LETTER-CARDS. (PiA.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Postmaster-General (the Hon. P. C. Webb) announces a reduction in the selling price of prisoner-of -war let-ter-cards from l,s 6d to Is. The Minister stated that the popularity of the card with the public was illustrated- by the fact that about 70 per cent, of the air mail communications addressed to prisoners of war was written on these special cards. ££ One advantage of the cards,” said Mr Webb, “is that censorship is facilitated in enemy countries as well as in New Zealand, by reason of the fact that the card is closed by folding instead of sealing. Another advantage, important from the viewpoint of the Allied war effort, is that the use conserves weight on aircraft conveying mails across the North Atlantic.”
