SOLDIERS HONOURED.
PRESENTATIONS AT WAKANUI.
Sergeant A. Dalton and Lance-Cor-poral M. Moore were entertained by the residents of Wakanui at a complimentary concert and dance. Mr T. S. Taylor presided over a largo representative gathering.
On behalf of the residents Mr A. Amos presented the guests with a hold-all, wallet and writing companion. Mrs F. Butterick, for the Comforts Committee, presented a parcel of comforts.
The Rev. ft. B. Gosnell, for the Methodist Church, presented LanceCorporal Moore with a fountain pen and extended best wishes to Sergeant Dalton.
Mrs E. M. Begg presented LanceCorporal Moore. with a gift from the members of the 1.0.G.T. Lodge. Mr S. P. Taylor and Mr H. L. Frampton also spoke. A musical programme arranged by Miss B. Opie was as follow's:—Songs, Misses H. Drummond, V. Harwood and Master K. Tonics ; elocution, Miss Joan Amos; tap dance, Miss Esme Ingram; piano-accordion, Mr R. Sparrow. The accompanist was Miss H. Drummond.
Dance music was supplied by Mrs Mitchell’s orchestra. Mr T. Watson was Master of Ceremonies.
