Mr W. B. W. Bell was re-elected 'Chairman of Directors of the Ashburton GaSj, Coal and Coke Company at a meeting of directors held after the annual meeting of shareholders yesterday. Flying Officer H. Worrall, who has been a member of the Wheat Committee for several years, and who is a well-known miller, has beqn granted temporary lea vie from the Air Force to assist in organising the 1943-44 wheat-growing campaign. Tho following Homo Guardsmen will leave to-morrow for a week’s training courses in the subjects shown: Sergeant R. G. M. Dart. Methven, and Corporal J. Brand, Walcanul, infantry and weapon training: Lance-Corporal J. Prendergast, Done, first aid and stretcher-bearing.
