ASHTON-WATERTON MEETING. The meeting of the Ashton-Waterton Women’s Institute was well attended. Mrs Pearson presided. An interesting demonstration on dehydrating fruit and vegetables was given by Mrs Oakley. Mrs Williams proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mrs Oakley. Competitions resulted:—Raspberry jam, Miss Page 1, Mrs Shimmin and Mrs Thompson (equal) 2; best bloom, Miss Wliearty 1, Miss Page 2; worked apron, Miss Page 1, Mrs Pearson 2.
