WOMEN POLICE.
MORE APPOINTMENTS PENDING. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 7. The number of women police in New Zealand is to be doubled, bringing the total to 20. All are being stationed at the four chief centres. This will increase the number at Auckland and' Wellington to ,six for each place, and at Christchurch and Dunedin to four each. The Commissioner of Police (Mr D. J. Cummings) said that some very fine applicants had come forward, and were now bqing iiiterviewed.
