Royal Air Force heavy bombers attacking an enemy convtoy in the Mediterranean yesterday were intercepted by three ME 110’s and a JU 88. One ME was shot down) and a second was last seen to be on fire. AJU was near the water in a steep dive with one engine, stepped. Smoke was pouring from the other. All our bom here returned.
