FORMER CLERGYMAN FOR TRIAL. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 7. Three charges under the Emergency Regulations: were heard in the Magistrate's Court to-day against Ormond Edward Burton, a former minister of religion, and after pleading not guilty he was committed by Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., to the Supreme Court for trial. He was charged with editing a bulletin of the New Zealand Christian Pacifist Society with ,a- view to facilitating the publication of a subversive statement, with attempting to publish a subversive statement, and with publishing a subversive statement. The accused was admitted to-bail in liisi own recognisance of £SO.
