“PULL OUR BELTS TIGHTER.” WASHINGTON, Oct. 5. Hr Roosevelt Inst night broadcast a message for the opening of the annual “Mobilisation for Human Needs,” which in war time has assumed wider significance in the United States. “We must transport some; of our new' buying power into growing power as we face redoubled needs on every hand at home and abroad, and prepare to pull our belts’ tighter for the hard fight ahead,” he said. “.For most cf ns giving will, net be easy this year, but your giving will provide not alone strength for our nation at war, but proof in a world of violence that we hold inviolate our belief in the infinite worth of the individual human being.”-
