I VICTORY IN UNITED STATES. TORONTO, Oct. 5a “We have won the battle of production,” said the president of the American Federation of Labour (Mr William Green), announcing at the annual contvention of the federation that all production standards set by Mr Roosevelt would be exceeded by American, workers. ■ ’ “The dictators must know that the armies of America and Canada are coming, and that the United States Jhrmiesi will be in Berlin and Tokio, fie said. “When the tyrants are .overcome there must be an international democratic force to preserve peace ‘throughout the world.” Six hundred delegates, representing 5,500,000 trade unionists in Canada and the United States, alsb heard an address by Mr H. M. Mitchell, (Canadian Minister of Labour), who warned them thU greater sacrifices would be needed in both countries before victory was achieved. “If we wind up : with our freedom and our shirts we will be lucky,” he said.
